Revlon: Color Burst Matte Balm

Welcome to December Everyone!!

Hope everyone's month is going GREAT so far!
Mine has been super busy, finished with school, until next semester anyway!!
Officially on holidays for school, but still working a lot :(

Since the holidays are just around the corner and a lot of events are popping up all over the calendar, I have been wearing some very festive beauty products.

Including this little beaut, the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm.

This little guy happens to give me the best and most classic red lip, which is perfect for around the Christmas Holidays!

I do agree, matte is not for everyone, but luckily Revlon has included a variety of colours in a matte formula and a lacquer formula within this line.

I just happen to really like matte right now, and immediately knew I had to have this particular shade:
Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm in "Standout" (250).

The crayon tip makes it really easy to use, I don't use lip liner with this and I don't get any feathering or bleeding.

This is what the lip colour looks like in regular room light.

This is what the colour looks like in natural day light.

As you can see the product is very matte, so I usually put a lip balm underneath it, just to prevent my lips from looking chapped or drying out. Without the lip balm, the product does start to feel a little bit dry...however the lasting power is am-ahhh-zing, does a very good job at staining the lips. Only have to reapply once throughout the day.

I definitely have fallen in love with this colour and the overall quality of the product. Now, just have to go out and purchase some more colours to add to my collection!

Tomorrow is Friday! One more day until the weekend everyone!

* cheers && make sure to wear a festive coloured lip throughout the holidays!!*

sweater weather TAG

Hello all :)

So for today's post I decided to do the Sweater Weather Tag that has been floating around the internet world.

However...

Instead of just giving you my answers to the questions, I took some pictures as well - so almost a review to every answer!!

Okay, here we go!!!

1. Favourite Candle Scent?

This happens to be one of my favourite candles at the moment, it will change very soon, because I am going to be purchasing all of the holiday scented candles very soon. Trying to use up my fall scented candles first though. Thus, this is my most favourite candle scent at the moment. It's Bath and Body Works' "Autumn" 3 wick candle. Website describes the scent as "A crisp fragrance blending pomegranate, red apples and fig, topped with fir balsam and cedarwood."

Initially I was drawn to this candle because of the elegant packaging. Pier 1 did an excellent job with this. Very, very similar scent to Bath and Body Works' candle "Leaves", even has a similar name - "Autumn Leaves". It is one wick, but oooo so exciting - it crackles!!! I love that effect because it sounds like a little fire is going on, and living in an apartment that doesn't have a fireplace, this candle is as good as it gets. Pier 1 Imports' website describes the scent as "Invigorating eucalyptus, woody cedar and gentle notes of clove, cinnamon  and musk - in a decorative tin..."

And finally, who doesn't love the scent "Leaves" by Bath and Body Works. Bought a bunch of these at the beginning of the season, because I even like to burn this one throughout the winter months. ADDICTED. Website describes the scent as "Golden nectar, juicy mandarin and red apples are spiced with cinnamon and harvest berries."

2.  Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?

To be perfectly honest, I really do like all of those. But if I had to pick, it would be coffee right now, seems to be the number one thing I order at Starbucks...only because I happen to be in love with the Pumpkin Spice Latte...along with the rest of the world. What I brew at home is Starbucks' Blonde Roast coffee - I do not like my coffee super strong, and this is their weakest one.

Tea would be my second favourite, as I rarely drink hot chocolate. This is my favourite tea flavour at the moment - Stash's Cinnamon Apple Chamomile Tea - it has just been perfect for these chilly autumn days and tastes a bit like apple cider :)

3. What's the best fall memory you have?

Hmmm, this one is tough, I think the one I remember most when I think of the autumn months is based mainly around Thanksgiving. There was one Thanksgiving at my parent's old house, where we lived near a bunch of my friends from elementary school. I was in grade six, so bed time was a little later and I was allowed to venture on the street we all lived on with my friends (without parents!!). I remember my grandparents were over for dinner, and we had a lovely time - great food and good visits. When they were getting ready to leave, I remember my friends came to the door and called on me to come play outside, and I was allowed to go for the first time - while it was later on in the evening . We didn't really do much but walk around and talk and do silly sixth grader things, but for some odd reason that particular circumstance sticks out in my memory whenever I think of autumn and Thanksgiving.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged liner?

I do love both trends. But my every day makeup look doesn't contain winged eyeliner anymore - I have been going for very neutral looks. So I would have to say, dark lips - considering my lippy collection does have a lot of dark lip colours. What is in the picture above is Milani's Lipstick in Sangria - a review will be up of that soon :)

5. Best fragrance for fall?

Well, I don't really have very many options within my collection of fragrances, simply because I am trying to use up all that I already own, in order to have the excuse to buy all new ones! So right now, I would have to say my best fall fragrance is Bath and Body Works' "Dark Kiss" perfume. I never wear this one in the warmer months, it just seems like a 'sweater weather' type fragrance. Website describes fragrance as "A tempting blend of black raspberry, Mirabelle plum, amber, dark vanilla bean and sensual balsam."

6. Favourite Thanksgiving food?

I love it all. If I had to choose, it would definitely be stuffing and gravy - I could live without the turkey and the potatoes and the vegetables - the thing I crave the most is definitely stuffing. My mom, she just cooks the best stuffing ever! <3

7. What is the autumn weather like where you live?

Cold. This fall has been surprisingly okay...still cold, but not as cold as usual...it is just starting to get really cold and rainy now.

8. Most worn sweater?

I am totally in love with cardigans, but recently went shopping with my friend at Ardene's and found some shawl/poncho like things and fell in love with those as well. In the picture above are my favourite sweaters at the moment. The top olive coloured one is a cardigan and the other two are the shawl/poncho style ones.

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?

I love love love nail polish. I don't have one that I can pick, I just don't. So I chose four!!! Top is O.P.I.'s "Every Month is Oktoberfest" (have an earlier blog post on this: http://thoughtsfromamyr.blogspot.ca/2012/10/deep-autumn-plums.html ), next is Revlon's "Fall Mood" (suits the season perfectly I think...lol), the classic red one is O.P.I.'s "All I Want for Christmas (Is OPI)" (going to be wearing this a lot throughout the winter season - blog post will be up in the next month), and then last but not least Essie's "Merino Cool" (have an earlier blog post on this as well: http://thoughtsfromamyr.blogspot.ca/2012/09/noft-essie-merino-cool.html ).

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?

I don't really do either...I live in an apartment so I don't have to rake any leaves, plus I've jumped into a leaf pile and was joined by a few frogs, and that really freaked me out. So...I'm going to have to say football games. My boyfriend is a huge football fan...I don't really watch all the games with him, but I must say I do enjoy the super bowl gatherings we have or attend - always good company and good food!

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?

Leggings, leggings, leggings. You rarely find me in anything else...especially since you can find pretty printed leggings anywhere. Or you can choose leggings that are a colour different from the typical black colour you would think leggings come in. Above are my favourite leggings to wear - one pair that's printed and one pair being an ox blood red colour (love that colour in the fall). I purchased both pairs at Target.

12. Combat boots or Uggs?

I do own both, but I definitely prefer combat boots. I find they are better for walking in and are much more water resistant. The boots I have showing above aren't your typical combat boot, but I'm going to make them count anyway. I love the buckles, and they only go up halfway on your calf. They also have faux fur on the inside, which keeps my toes nice and toasty throughout the chillier months. Purchased these on www.justfab.com - model is GALE, and I believe they are still available on the site. This website happens to be an amazing place to get shoes/boots on the cheaper side.

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?

My First Ever Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks...Had to log it with Instagram!
YES! All I have to say.

14. Favourite fall TV shows?

I am going to be putting up a blog post of all the television shows I am working my way through at the moment, but I will list my most favourite of them all right now: The series "Arrow" happens to be my most favourite show out of everything I watch right now. It is a 'super hero' type television show, but it is very, very well written, and can I just mention it has one of THE most hottest and built lead characters. I suggest you check him out ladies!! And following Arrow, would probably be the series "The Walking Dead". I just recently started to watch this series, and let me tell you, I caught up really fast. Could NOT stop watching it and now I'm sad that I'm all caught up and can only watch one episode a week *tears*.

15. What songs really get you into the fall spirit?

Phew, there we are finished! If you made it all the way to the end, congratulations, that was definitely a long one. Took me a long time to type it all out, so Thank You!

I TAG all of you to do this as well! It's quite a lot of fun :)

cheers&&enjoy all of this 'Sweater Weather'!

amy, xoxo.

instagram in october.

First question of the day: Who doesn't like/use instagram these days??

I happen to be a HUGE instagram addict...(updates come to the side bar of my blog, actually).

I have been doing a lot of 'out of the ordinary' type blog posts, simply because I would like to share a little bit more than just beauty products with everyone - I am liking the idea of broadening my horizons a little bit :)

I have decided that at the end of every month (or, the beginning of every new month...most likely...lol) I will be posting what the past month has been like for me, through my instagram pictures. The order of the photos will go as regular instagram formation: from most recent to less recent.

Most of this month consisted of a lot of warm foods, warm clothes, and cold walks!
In my newest picture above (top left) I just purchased a new nail polish from the new Mariah Carey Christmas line from O.P.I - this shade is "All I Want for Christmas (is OPI)" and I can't wait to paint my nails with this and show you guys! I do realize, Halloween just passed...but these limited edition nail polishes, never usually last long in any of the stores located near me.
I was also a Zombie Hunter for Halloween (that bruise is not real - OH the wonders of make up!), decided on this costume, simply because I just fell in love with the show "The Walking Dead" ( I know, slow to jump on the band wagon, as usual). To create the bruise I used a wet sponge to dab some black eye shadow onto my skin (only use a little bit in order to create the mishapen, faded, bruised look), used a dark purple eye shadow in the middle to create a two toned effect, and then blended it all out with some brown eye shadow with an old make up brush, I planned on never using again. Oh, and of course, I used a little bit of fake blood - because what is Halloween without some fake blood!?!
I bought a new shirt from Ardene, received a furry bear hat from my friend, made home made crock pot applesauce, and also decorated a really cool skull - to add some extra chic-ness to my apartment (got the idea from Mr.Kate's channel on YouTube: http://www.mrkate.com/2013/10/13/diy-halloween-decor/ )

I recently fell in love with wearing my hair up in braided buns, made an autumn play list, was more adventurous with my meal planning and cooked some new recipes, tried and fell in love with Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte, and ventured on some beautiful and chilly walks.

It was Canadian Thanksgiving throughout the month of October as well - had some delicious food and desserts. I also came up with the personal tradition of having Tuesdays as my official bun days - adds a bit of fun to the dreary second day of the week. I have mini hauls within my instagram, and take pictures of mostly everything I love!

I have my instagram user name on the side bar, but I will put it here as well: arussel1 - come follow me!!!

Sorry that this was such a long post, but it was something new and fun for me - I may have gotten a little carried away, lol.

cheers everyone && welcome to november!!!

Rimmel Apocalips: Stellar

Happy Tuesday!!

haha, yeah I know, it's only Tuesday *groan*...

On The Bright Side

I have a lip product that I wanted to review for all of you.

I do know, I'm little bit late on reviewing this product, but where I live, the stores don't usually get anything until a lot later than everyone else it seems, so please bare with me here, lol.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquers:

My initial thought on the product: dannnng this is pigmented!
I do know one thing, this lip laquer is going to last me a long time, simply because you only need to use a very small amount to get completely opaque lips.

The shade I went with is "Stellar", and on the lips, I feel like it looks a lot brighter than when it is in the actual tube...however, I still really really like it - and do think that it can be a colour that you can wear in the summer and carry on into the fall and winter seasons.

I took a few shots of what the product looks like on my lips - here I have what it looks like in the bright sunlight. You can see that it has quite a hot pink tone to it...but it does have a little bit of deeper red undertones, which is why I feel like you could keep wearing this shade right on from summer to winter.

Here I have what the shade looks like in a more darker lighted setting. Still a beautiful, bold colour.
As I said before, a little definitely goes a long way with this product. I actually tried to get as much of the excess product off of the applicator before I touched it to my lips - and in the end, it still gave me completely opaque and bold looking lips.
I did find the product to be a little bit drying after about an hour... so I would advice you to add a moisturizing lip balm prior to applying the product.

The lasting power is AWESOME
About 5 hours in, my lips still had the coloured stain to them, it had lost its glossiness, but the colour was definitely still going strong!
I love that in a lip product, because then I don't have to constantly feel like I
 should be reapplying the product.
I have worn this to work once, and I reapplied it once throughout the day and that's about it. Might I add that you definitely do need a mirror to apply this, because it is so heavily pigmented and quite hard to get off if you do make a mistake...but when a product's lasting power is so amazing, I don't mind pulling my mirror out once throughout the day to touch the look up.

All in all, I think I will be buying more shades to add to my lippy collection. They are quite effortless and so chic. I am totally in love, just as almost every other girl in the world is, lol.

Hope you ladies are having a beautiful Tuesday, and talk to you soon!

cheers && give into your temptation of buying a lip product ;)

Hey everyone!

So I have decided to do something a little bit out of the ordinary today. It was such a dreary, rainy, stormy, and cold day here - hasn't been a good Saturday for me. So as per usual, when things get a little crummy, I resort to some good ol' tunes.

Here I have put together an autumn playlist to share with all of you. These are all the songs I have been listening to throughout this autumn season. Just a few (cough, cough...I mean approximately thirty...) songs I find to be quite comforting throughout the chillier days:

welcome autumn 2013!

WOW.

It has been some time since I have posted anything on my blog. Not going to make up a bunch of excuses, because...

                                        ...really...

...how did I not find the time to simply sit down at my computer and type a little post out...
(**extremely embarrassed face**).

As a matter of fact I don't really have much of an excuse, except to say that it was summer, and I just wasn't on my computer as much...I tried to get out and enjoy the summer days as much as possible! Along with the fact that I didn't really purchase very many beauty products, as my summer looks were really, generally, quite simple.

HOWEVER

As sad as I am to say goodbye to summer, I have officially decided to welcome autumn with open arms.

                                                                                           ...actually...

who am I kidding, I absolutely LOVE fall!

Everything about it - the amazing scents, the beautiful colours, the cooler temperature - each of its elements seem to be exactly what I love. I am, indeed, an autumn type of girl!

SO
in reality, I have full out dove into fall!

Today I do not have an actual beauty product review, but I thought I would write a little post to welcome all of you to the newly revamped "thoughts from amy". I decided to try and incorporate as much of the season as I could within the template of my blog. I did this in hopes that I could bring some emotions of excitement towards the season, rather than dread/resentment. If you live anywhere in Canada, you should know exactly what kind of dread I am talking about...

                                    . . .The Brutal Winter. . .

But for now, let's just enjoy the beauty of this season - the crisp, crunchy leaves && the cool air && chunky sweaters && hot drinks && warm/neutral tones && especially all  the cute new booties <3.

Will be on my computer a little more now, so I will be pushing myself to pump out more blog posts.

Happy Fall Everyone!

xoxo.

L'Oreal: Telescopic Explosion Mascara

hello all!

Hope you all had an amazing Easter, AND, Happy April Fool's Day. I must say, I was never a huge fan of April Fool's. I feel like I have a pretty good sense of humour, but I don't cope with pranks very well. Haha, what are your thoughts on this day?

Annnyway!

I do have another little product I would like to add to my...I'll let you guess...

                                That's right!

                                                      ... My mascara series!

This little guy has helped me through times where I want to get my bottom lashes, to look as good as my top lashes!

L'Oreal's Telecopic Explosion Mascara has a teeny brush, which allows me to access all the little lashes that need to come out from hiding! It also helps accentuate my top lashes, if I am in the mood to have a little extra
BAM to my eyelash look.

The formulation of the product is quite opaque, therefore coats your lashes with ease.

However, I haven't gotten as much use out of this mascara as I thought I would when purchasing it. Yes, it does give me a VERY dramatic look, but, even I find it, too much of a dramatic look for every day wear.

So yes, I will only use this product on nights where I'm going out or when I know my picture will be taken a lot, simply because it helps my mascara show up way better in photos! :)

I do tend to use this a little bit more on my bottom lashes, because the tiny brush gets all of my little lashes without getting any on my lower eye skin. It does a pretty perfect job with bottom lashes, I must say. (But for top ones, as I said before, only for big occasions.)

What are some of your favourite mascaras for your bottom lashes. I know that Clinique has a very good one for the lower lashes (this one is pretty comparable -almost as good) are there any others out there? Please let me know! :)

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Bye for now!

xoxo.

Benefit: They're Real Mascara

Hello again everyone!

I know, lately it's been posts just on - mascara, mascara, and more mascara!
BUT bare with me, I'm just a little bit of a mascara addict right now!

Today, I am here to review the one and only - Benefit's They're Real Mascara!

This little contraption has given me a ton of excellent use!
This is one of my absolute favourite mascaras, simply because it does almost every single job a mascara should do!
It is a little bit more on the expensive side, but it is well worth the money!
This mascara creates full lashes!
It lengthens, volumizes, and is very opaque!

The formula is thick and very black. The brush and the wand are also perfect for lengthening and creating volume. The brush is plastic, and has a bunch of tiny bristles (much like Covergirl's Clump Crusher). This helps separate the lashes, to create a more full look. The wand is also very sturdy, and as I have mentioned before, this enables you to get right to the root of your lashes, and gives you a good support to build your lashes' volume up.

Lately, I have been using a lot of my other mascaras that I have bought, but I tend to turn to this one for my bottom lashes. Almost all of my looks include this mascara, simply because I find it has the best brush for bottom lashes! It separates them and coats them just perfectly! It also does not leave me with any under eye fall out (blackness/mascara smudges), which makes it an instant winner!

I have nothing bad to say about this mascara, as almost every other review of it doesn't either.
I definitely recommend this mascara if you are willing to pay a little extra, for one of the most amazing mascaras you will ever try.

Anyway, I hope all of you are having a Happy Wednesday! And I will talk to you in my next post!!

What do you all think about the Benefit: They're Real Mascara?

| a few moments of february ||

One more little video I took throughout the month of February. Adding it to my monthly compilations. Hope you all enjoy it! :)

Revlon: Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to yet another post about mascara!

This particular mascara is slowly becoming my most used one! It has a really thick formula, making it quite easy to coat all of your lashes. It is also really opaque as well. As you all know, I love my dramatic lashes, and I am not a fan of wearing fake ones, so when a mascara creates more of a  dramatic effect, I instantly fall in love.

This mascara is supposed to give volume and length, I have to say that it definitely gives me more volume than length though.

I am absolutely in love with the brush of this mascara! The cone shape really helps to get into the corners of my eyes, therefore I am able to get every lash coated with mascara :). It also does a very good job at coating the bottom lashes as well.

So all in all, I am pretty pleased with this mascara, doesn't add as much length as I would have liked, but it does a decent job at making my lashes a lot fuller!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Sunday!

xoxo

L'Oreal: Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara

Hello my lovelies!

Back here with yet another mascara that I have been wanting to share with all of you.

L'Oreal mascara products have always seemed to be quite a good match for my lashes, especially the ones that say they are going to lengthen them.

This particular mascara is certainly one of the lengthening ones!

I am not too sure how popular the Carbon Black edition of this line of mascaras is...I have seen a few beauty gurus rave on about it though.

For my lashes, this one seems to be the most lengthening out of all of the mascaras that I will be showing you.

The only mascara that I have spoken about before, that is a little more lengthening than this one, is the Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara. But even so, it adds only a smidge amount of length compared to this one.

The formula of the L'Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black, is much more liquid-y and pigmented than the Maybelline Illegal Length, which, I find, adds a little more of a dramatic effect. So if you are looking to make your eyes REALLY pop, this mascara would be a much better pick than the Maybelline one.

You will notice the brush and wand to this mascara looks a little bit dinky...however, the small bristles (similar to the Clump Crusher) really allow the product to attach itself to the lash and fully lengthen. The small bristles also help with no clumping! (Not as good as the Clump Crusher though). The wand, being flexible, allows for quick and long strokes - this helps create the extension of your lashes with ease.

The packaging of this tube, is pretty cool - the shape of a telescope. It is sleek and very black, and the gold writing adds a sort of elegance to it.

I tend to lean towards using this mascara more if I really want to make my lashes long and to create a drastic change from my naked lashes - I love to put this mascara together with a 'night out' makeup look!

Overall, L'Oreal mascaras have always impressed me, this one is yet another one that has not let me down!

Hope you all are having a great Friday Eve! Weekend is now definitely in sight!!

Which L'Oreal products have impressed you?

Covergirl: Clump Crusher Mascara

Hello again!!

Back with another review of ANOTHER mascara!

Big Surprise!!!

Today I am going to be blogging about something that has been circulating around the beauty world  a lot! It has gotten mostly positive reviews, AND I am going to be giving it another one.

I give Covergirl a round of applause for all their newly formulated products, I was never a huge Covergirl fan, but they have really stepped up their game! Every product that I have been trying by them has definitely impressed me!

This mascara is one of those products!

This mascara is absolutely perfect for me, because, as I have mentioned before, I love big dramatic lashes. And one way to achieve that is by layering the mascara. With a lot of other mascaras I have tried, it is almost impossible to go beyond 2 layers without it clumping. However, this mascara allows me to put on as many layers as I want, and it just will NOT clump!

 (Impressive!!)

The packaging is quite simple, but the brush is what this mascara is all about! The tiny bristles on the brush are the reason behind the no-clump magic! They are so small and placed so close together that it is almost near to impossible for any clumps to form. The wand is also very strong, which makes it easier to put the brush right at the root of your lashes in order to pull up and create more volume!

I must say, the only downfall to this mascara is that it doesn't really add any length to your lashes...but it does create a nicely separated and full look!

I would definitely recommend this mascara to any of you who haven't gone out and gotten it already. It is truly an amazing little thing!

What have you all been thinking about the Clump Crusher? What have you all been thinking about all of Covergirl's new products??

Hope you all are having a great Wednesday! The week is half way over!!

Lancome: Hypnose Drama Mascara

Hello everyone!!

Welcome to March! Been a while since I was last on here, busy with school and midterms etc, etc. Been shooting a lot of videos as well, thinking of starting a YouTube beauty channel, haven't uploaded anything yet, still in the editing process, but hoping to get some of my vlogs up there shortly. Will be posting them up here as soon as I do, since I like sharing my day to day  life with you guys as well as beauty products!

As I have mentioned before, I have been venturing out into the world and trying new mascaras. I used to be the type of girl that would own one particular mascara, be in love with it, and use it up until it was finished - then go out and either pick up the same one, or try another one. Lately, I have been going a little mascara crazy - AND I happened to get a free sample of the Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara. I didn't use it for THE longest time because I thought that I had found my one and only match - The Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara.

One day, randomly picked the Lancome mascara up and used it - FELL IN LOVE!

My lashes were so dramatically black and had so much volume! I have an obvious love for big, dramatic, and black lashes - so this mascara suits me perfectly.

The brush does a very good job at plumping my lashes, along with lengthening them. Ever since I have been wearing this mascara I have been receiving comments about my lashes: "Are those fake eyelashes?", "What mascara are you using?", "Your lashes look fantastic!". Will definitely be picking up a full size bottle of this mascara, along with possibly trying many more of the Lancome mascara products!

Soooo I have to give this mascara a 10/10 because it has given me everything that I have looked for in a mascara. However, this is not saying that I am not game for trying other mascaras out either - because if I have learned anything through this process, it is always good to just venture out a little bit and try things! There are many good mascaras circulating within the drugstore as well, all of which I would like to get my hands on and try. Will make sure to make reviews on all of them, since my school schedule has lightened up now :).

Hope you all had a great weekend, and that your Tuesday is wonderfulllll!

What Lancome products are you a fan of?

Under Eye Concealer 1: Maybelline Dreamlumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

Why hello!

How has everyone's week been so far? Mine, well it's been really cold - about -40 degrees Celsius here. My car has barely been able to start each morning, making it a difficult task to get into work and school...unfortunate, but such Canadian weather :(. Supposed to average out by the weekend though, thank goodness - this is just a little bit too cold for my liking!

Since most of my free time has been spent inside getting warm, decided a blog post was suiting for the moment.

Lately I have been on the hunt for under eye concealers - ones that will brighten and cover any dark circles or imperfections under my eyes. I have found a couple products that I particularly like. I will start off with the Maybelline Dreamlumi Touch Highlighting Concealer:

I do know that there is a lot of hype going around the beauty world for this product. I am quite pleased with it, as well as everyone else. The consistency of the product is quite light and does a very good job at highlighting as well as covering blemishes or dark circles under the eye. I like the packaging as well, the tube it comes in is quite easy to use. By twisting the bottom of the tube, you are able to control how much product you want to come out, which is helpful and makes sure no product is wasted.

Overall, I am pleased with this product!

Have any of you been using this concealer? Let me know what you think!

Happy Wednesday everyone - the week is half way over now! :)

Take care.

Maybelline: Illegal Length Mascara

happy saturday everyone!

Today has been somewhat of a relaxing day for me. I got to sleep in, for once (hooray), then started my day off slowly, until I gradually motivated myself to clean my place. Now that it is spic and span, decided to write a little blog post!

I have been widening my collection of mascaras lately, have quite a few to show you all!
I will start off with my absolute favourite!
Maybelline's Illegal Length Mascara does phenomenal things to my lashes!

The brush, of this wonderful product, massively lengthens, volumizes, and separates lashes!
I definitely don't think I could ever call my makeup collection complete without this tremendous product!
It is my go to mascara whenever I feel like I want to make my lashes drastically longer; perfect for an evening out.
I am not a huge fan of wearing fake lashes either, so I find this to be a great alternative for me!

I strongly recommend you try this mascara out (if you haven't already), especially if you are looking to obtain a dramatic look for your lashes.
I promise it will always do great things for you!

That will be all for my Saturday blog. Will be wearing this mascara tonight :). Hope you all have a great evening!! What are some of your favourite mascaras? - there is no such thing as too many mascaras, I could always use more! :)

| winter shower gels.

hello everyone!

- have made it through the first week back to school and work now - weekend is almost here - YAY!

Hope all of you are having a fantastic week! My week has gotten much better since Monday, although I am still trying to fight off this cold! Hopefully with the weekend to rest (and with the weather warming up a little bit more here), I will be completely over it by this upcoming Monday!

I have been in love with the shower gels I've been using throughout the colder months! I use two and tend to switch it up depending on my mood, haha.

The one on the left is from Sephora, Philosophy's Vanilla Birthday Cake. Smells absolutely divine, makes you feel like you are at a birthday party every time you shower. It actually captures the warm, vanilla, sugary scent of birthday cake and then there is a background scent, of what I feel smells like the candles being blown out. This shower gel really does do a fabulous job at replicating the scent of a birthday cake - very impressed! The formula of the product is just as good, creamy, suds up very well, and don't have to use too much at one time either! All in all, the Philosophy shower gels always please me - but this one I especially like!

The second shower gel I have been using is from Bath and Body Works. I always seem to have a Bath and Body Works product somewhere in my shower. Dark Kiss is a  scent that a lot of my friends and I instantly fell in love with. I find it to be a very good scent for the colder months as well. It has a little bit more of a musty scent to it - but it is quite appealing. The packaging says that it is a "...seductive blend of voluptuous berries, tempting blooms and night musk to unleash your most primal passions". I love taking showers with this shower gel when I'm going out somewhere at night, or I use it on an overcast/gloomy day - just brings my spirits up. It leaves a nice lingering scent on your skin as well - just as all the Bath and Body Works shower gels do!

Anyway happy Thursday, the weekend is nearing!

What shower gels do you like to use throughout the colder months?

Lancome Blush - Winter Coquette

good morning everyone!

Sadly, it is Monday - luckily I have the day off of work and school! But tomorrow, I will be getting back into the grind of things, with it being the first day back at school from Christmas holidays! Not only is it the sad end to my holidays but, I had to take both my cats to the vet this morning and have discovered that one of them has a pretty severe heart murmur. Why do things have to pile up all at once?! Anyway, will be dealing with that!

On another note, I have decided to share a blush with all of you today, has been a while since I have reviewed one of those!

Have to be completely honest with all of you, this blush was free! I got to choose from a number of different products to accompany my purchase at Lancome. Being the blush lover I am, chose one of the darker shades - which is nice to put on my cheeks throughout the colder months :).

The shade of the blush looks a little bit lighter in the picture though. Instead of having more of a peachy tone to it, it's got more of a dark plum colour. It's definitely matte as well, and has a great texture and can easily be applied to your cheeks.

I particularly like wearing this shade throughout the winter because it gives my cheeks a nice rosy look, with no shimmer - so it looks like I have winter kissed cheeks at all times :).

The shade of this blush from Lancome is called, "Mauve Coquette", and it has worked its way into my daily makeup regime more and more. For being an absolutely free product, I must say I am quite pleasantly surprised!

I will end with that, hope all of you are having a much better Monday than I and I will be back to blog soon!

What types of blushes do you like to wear throughout the winter months?

hair mask

hello friends!

It has indeed been a while since I have blogged last, was planning to over Christmas, but there just was not enough time to spare!

So here I am, starting fresh in the New Year, planning to blog a lot more. Although, to start the New Year off, I ended up catching a deadful cold :(. Has been going through a lot of my friends and family, so should have known I was bound to catch it at some point, no matter how many vitamins I shoveled into my mouth!

Anyway, there are a lot of products I have in store to share with you ladies, so hopefully I will be more on top of things from now on :)!

I know there has been a lot of hype and reviews on the product I am posting today, but I thought I would let you know what my thoughts are on it!

My hair has benefited from this product soooo much! As soon as I started using it, my hair felt much healthier - gave back a healthy glow to my hair, it felt way softer, and the frizziness being less than usual each time I used it. The thickness of my hair seemed to come back and let me tell you, this is awesome at detangling hair. If you have a hair do where you have to put hair spray in it and you are finding it hard to get the knots out, use this, and the knots quickly disappear!

The texture of this Deep Repair Mask is quite thick! You only have to use very little of this product. It is also recommended that you only use the product once-twice a week, which is why, I think,  this container has lasted me so long!

It is a little pricey, but the quality of the product is totally worth the money, and most importantly - it works! The container may look a little small, but I promise, in this case - a little goes a long way. The package will last you a while.

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year!
Looking forward to the new things to come in 2013!

I have also been into making short videos, which is another reason why I haven't been blogging as much.
